Fifty-seven cultivars (cvs) of four vegetable species (onion 8; tomato for processing 23; zucchini 12; common bean for waxy and dry grain production 14) were evaluated for the second year in different locations under organic farming regime field cultivation. A randomized complete block design with three replications was applied to all trials. Data were submitted to ANOVA analysis in order to evaluate the effect (P ≤ 0.05) produced by the tested cvs. Statistical differences between cvs were evaluated by applying Duncan’s test. Before applying ANOVA analysis, data distribution was checked for normality condition and, where necessary and possible, corrected. Onion – Meteorological conditions occurred in Parma in March 2011 allowed direct sowing in the field. Yield data obtained at harvest time, performed in August, allowed to confirm the good performance of a few cvs. The two most productive onion cvs in 2011 were MS331 and Casper F1. The best performing cvs, calculated among the two year test were MS331, Primo blanco and Rossa Inverno select. Granata. Tomato – The results obtained in 2011 from the two location trials, confirmed the very low production in terms of tons.brix.ha–1 for all cvs (Parma 2.22 and Battipaglia 1.52 tons.brix.ha–1). The two most productive cvs as tons.brix.ha–1 were: Kikko (cherry fruit type) and Podium (cube shaped fruits) at Battipaglia and, Genius (long fruits) and Littano (cube shaped fruits) at Parma. The best performing cvs, calculated among the two year test were Kikko, Alican, Auspicio, Podium and Gladis at Battipaglia and, Genius, Terranova, Leader and Littano at Parma. Plant health was rather good in both trials. Zucchini – The results obtained in 2011 from the two organic farming trials, showed a fairly good production as well as a rather good plant health. Statistically, all cvs except San Pasquale showed a good production. Considering absolute values, Greyness was the first (4.57 Kg of fruits per plant) at Monsampolo T. (AP), whereas the cv Alexander was the most productive (3.16 kg/plant) at Cesena (FC).
